We are seeking a dynamic Transport Manager to take responsibility for planning and managing passenger transport operations for Framlingham College and Prep School. The minibus fleet transports pupils and staff to, from and between the schools each day using a network of routes over a wide catchment area. The minibus service is a strategic enabler of the school's business plans and the successful candidate will be expected to lead the progression and expansion of the current offering.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage passenger transport operations for the two sites, including daily school runs and additional journeys as required.
- Lead progression and expansion of the current minibus offering, aligned with the school's business plans.
- Coordinate bookings and transport plans at the beginning and end of term, and manage pupil transport between airports, train stations and the College during term times.
- Maintain and optimise route planning, scheduling, and logistics, sometimes under pressure, using initiative and good organisation skills.
- Identify and solve issues with minimal supervision and clearly communicate plans, updates and changes to stakeholders.
- Ensure safe and timely travel of pupils and pupil groups, with a customer-focused approach.
- Oversee invoicing during holidays and support minibus maintenance and related operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Advantageous to have CPC (PCV) level 3; appropriate training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Ability to plan and implement complex logistics requirements under pressure.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel; ability to learn new systems and processes.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey plans, updates and changes.
About Framlingham College
Framlingham College is a co-educational boarding and day school comprising the Prep School at Brandeston Hall and the Senior School in Framlingham, overlooking the castle. The catering department provides meals to over 700 boarding and day pupils, with menus prepared fresh on site in a well-equipped kitchen.
