Are you passionate about building safety, compliance, and protecting people in their homes? We're looking for a dedicated Fire Safety Officer to join our Property Services team and play a vital role in delivering a robust fire safety programme across our diverse housing portfolio.

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive professional who enjoys working with people, managing compliance programmes, and ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained for residents, colleagues, and visitors.

About the Role

As Fire Safety Officer, you will coordinate and monitor our fire safety compliance activities, ensuring we meet all statutory obligations and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with contractors, consultants, managers, and operational teams to manage:

  • Fire Risk Assessment programmes
  • Fire safety inspections
  • Fire door inspections
  • Fire equipment servicing
  • Remedial works and action plans
  • Compliance reporting and performance monitoring

You'll be at the heart of our compliance operation, helping to ensure our homes remain safe while supporting continuous improvement across the organization

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating Fire Risk Assessments across our property portfolio.
  • Tracking and monitoring compliance deadlines and remedial actions.
  • Liaising with contractors and specialist consultants.
  • Maintaining accurate compliance records and reporting systems.
  • Producing performance reports and management information.
  • Supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Working collaboratively with Housing, Health & Safety, Property Services, and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying and escalating compliance risks and supporting solutions

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines strong organisational skills with a genuine commitment to safety and compliance.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within social housing, property services, compliance, fire safety or a similar regulated environment.
  • Experience managing workloads, action plans, compliance records, and contractor performance.
  • Excellent communication
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and compliance management systems.
  • An understanding of building maintenance and construction terminology.
  • Knowledge of fire safety legislation and compliance requirements.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Qualifications

  • Fire safety qualification or relevant industry certification.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Experience working within social housing or residential property management.
