DUTY WORKER - TRANSITIONS CITY, NOTTINGHAM, PERMANENT, 37HRS, GRADE 2 AS, £24,398,FTE Team Step Up, Derbyshire Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC), Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire City Transitions, Nottingham Transitions South, Nottingham Teenage Parents Service, Young Parents Service Reports to Assistant Manageror Service Manager Pay Scale & Grade Service Delivery Grade 2 Date agreed by Job Evaluation Panel 13.3.25 Purpose of the role To deliver structured programmes of support that empower people to move towards and maintain independence and/or recovery. Our Young Persons services offer a safe and welcoming home to young people who are homeless, leaving care or seeking asylum and leave to remain in the UK. As a Duty Worker, youll be responsible for supporting young people to develop independent living skills that will serve them as they prepare to live independently. Youll be responsible for keeping the service safe, supporting the young people as needed on a day-to-day basis and delivering 1 to 1 and group support and activities. Youll need humour, resilience, persistence and flexibility to succeed in this role. In return, youll get to make an important difference to them and their futures as they take their first steps to living independently. Main Duties Deliver structured programmes of support in line with the aims of the service including: 1:1 support to address immediate needs, access services, attend appointments and engage in independent living tasks Group activities that promote social inclusion, develop independent living skills, reduce isolation and support meaningful activity. Manage risk using safety plans and de-escalation techniques appropriate to the situation. Work with other agencies to ensure that people using the service receive the holistic services that support their independence and/or recovery. Share information in line with agreed protocols and regulations. Maintain accurate and concise records of all activities. Work with people to ensure that they comply with licence/tenancy requirements, addressing non-compliance in line with policies and procedures. Contribute to the safe and effective running of the site at all times, responding to incidents, tensions, welfare concerns and staffing problems that arise, supporting colleagues and people using the service with calmness, respect and professionalism. Act as Shift Lead. Post Requirements Able to work regular shifts, including mornings, evenings & weekends as required by the rota. In our UASC Nottinghamshire service, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, which is insured for business use is helpful but not essential.
