Purpose of the role
To deliver structured programmes of support that empower people to move towards and maintain independence and/or recovery.
Our Young Persons services offer a safe and welcoming home to young people who are homeless, leaving care or seeking asylum and leave to remain in the UK. As a Duty Worker, youll be responsible for supporting young people to develop independent living skills that will serve them as they prepare to live independently. Youll be responsible for keeping the service safe, supporting the young people as needed on a day-to-day basis and delivering 1 to 1 and group support and activities.
Youll need humour, resilience, persistence and flexibility to succeed in this role. In return, youll get to make an important difference to them and their futures as they take their first steps to living independently.
Main Duties
- Deliver structured programmes of support in line with the aims of the service including:
- 1:1 support to address immediate needs, access services, attend appointments and engage in independent living tasks
- Group activities that promote social inclusion, develop independent living skills, reduce isolation and support meaningful activity.
