The Role
Framestore's Virtual Production (VP) team is at the heart of our most forward-thinking projects, supporting Film, TV, VR, and Advertising - involved in everything from performance capture and virtual camera work to photogrammetry and realtime LED workflows. We are looking for a Production Manager to join our Virtual Production team in London. This role sits at the centre of our on-set and capture work, supporting Film, TV, VR and Advertising projects through innovative virtual production workflows.
As the VP Production Manager, you’ll be the Producer’s right hand, helping to push the boundaries of the VFX pipeline. You’ll lead the day-to-day logistics on set and in the studio, ensuring our Capture and VP Leads have exactly what they need to succeed. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the energy of a shoot and wants to play a key part in crafting the next generation of visual storytelling. You’ll act as our primary point of contact on set, managing the flow of capture-related work and making sure every shoot day runs like clockwork.
- Organising capture and shoot days, including booking talent, crew, and specialised equipment
- Managing project schedules, crewing, and deliverables while maintaining strong vendor relationships to secure the best rates
- Partnering with technical leads to define workflows, project milestones, and clear delivery plans
- Proactively identifying risks and solving problems on the fly to keep production moving
- Supervising Coordinators and PAs on a project basis and assisting with bidding for upcoming shows
You will also ensure all security protocols are met, deliver project post-mortems, and handle partner communications whenever the Producer is away.
Essential skills
- Previous experience in on-set motion capture or virtual production management/coordination
- A solid understanding of on-set roles and decision-making channels
- The ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment
- A proven ability to build and maintain rapport with both crew and clients
- Strong attention to detail with a drive to improve operational efficiencies
- Proficiency with resource management tools and Microsoft Excel
Nice to have
- UK driving licence
- Strong knowledge of Virtual Production technical essentials
