About The Role
This is a new role within our team. Texture Artists play a key role in bringing our CG creatures and hard‑surface models to life by creating a wide range of high‑quality texture maps for use in production. Working closely with Modelling, Look Development, and Environment teams, we help deliver photo‑real assets for high‑end visual effects projects.
Responsibilities
- Create high‑quality texture maps appropriate to your skill level and meet the needs of the project.
- Collaborate with the CG Supervisor and Lead Texture/Lookdev Artists to achieve the required look for characters and hard‑surface assets.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with Lookdev, Modelling, Environment, and Production teams.
- Perform quality checks on texture maps before publishing to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Work within agreed schedules and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards.
- Keep Production and Leads informed of progress, challenges, and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to the team by sharing workflow tips, techniques, and reference materials.
- Stay current with new tools, software, and emerging technology relevant to the discipline.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and production experience of Mari.
- Strong knowledge and production experience of Substance Painter & Designer.
- The ability to work within a team of other Texture Artists or independently.
- A commitment to creative collaboration within the team and with other departments.
- Proactive and excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
- Creative problem‑solving skills.
- The proven ability to work well under pressure.
- Open to direction and able to embrace change.
- Attention to detail.
- Comprehension of colour spaces principles and ACES colour management.
- Experience with reference calibration.
- Reliable, with good timekeeping and the ability to meet set deadlines.
- Look‑development skills or experience.
