The Role

As a Lighting Artist within our Immersive division, you will work alongside our creative leadership, supervisors and artists to implement high-quality lighting for interactive experiences. With the Art Director, you will be responsible for creating the mood, atmosphere, and visual narrative of our projects using Unreal Engine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lighting Design: Utilise various lighting techniques in Unreal Engine to deliver high-quality visual products for IP and brand clients.
  • Performance Optimisation: With the tech team, use profiling and diagnostic tools to ensure the lighting setup is optimised for real-time performance without sacrificing visual quality.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Address lighting-related technical issues as they arise, maintaining a calm and proactive mindset in a fast-paced environment.
  • R&D Support: Collaborate with the team to prototype new lighting features and provide feedback on visual R&D phases.

Job requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Advanced Unreal Engine Expertise: Deep knowledge of Unreal’s lighting systems (including Lumen, Path Tracing, or baked lighting).
  • Technical & Creative Balance: A strong creative visual instinct backed by a demonstrable level of technical knowledge.
  • Experience in Immersive Media: Proven experience working with VR, AR, or other real-time emerging platforms.
  • Positive attitude towards learning and sharing.

You might also have:

  • DCC Proficiency: Advanced experience with the likes of Maya, Blender and/or Houdini to support the lighting pipeline.
  • Experience with other real-time engines: such as Unity.
