Our teams blend creative ingenuity with cutting-edge technology to deliver high-end visual effects, immersive storytelling, and premium content for global clients, brands, and broadcasters.

This is a new role within our team. As Head of Lighting, we will look to you to help us lead all aspects of lighting and rendering at Framestore across Advertising, Episodic, and Immersive shows. You will establish and maintain the benchmark for quality across all shows, leading the way creatively while ensuring the department has the right artists, tools, and workflows to deliver the highest standard of work.

There is a strong technical focus to this role as you will be working to develop and improve our workflows, tools, and pipeline. You will work closely with the Heads of CG and Senior Talent Team to hire, develop, and lead the lighting team. This role will still be actively working on projects to maintain a close relationship with artists, technology, and have a clear understanding of potential innovation workflow improvements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A strong technical mind, able to develop elements of workflow and pipeline as needed while offering advice and guidance on all aspects of Lighting/Look Dev across the department.
  • Strong expertise using a range of software, including Houdini, Maya, and Arnold.
  • Outstanding work and a proven track record of delivering quality within VFX.
  • Genuine investment in growing and developing the team, leading and enabling the existing team while proactively seeking the best talent to join us.
  • Collaborative approach to problem-solving, bringing both management and team members together with your decisions.
  • Adaptable, interested in development, change, and innovation.
