Site Lead Quality Inspector

Framatome is a major international player in the nuclear energy market recognised for its innovative solutions and value-added technologies for designing, building, maintaining, and advancing the global nuclear fleet. The company designs, manufactures, and installs components, fuel and instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants and offers a full range of reactor services.

Framatome is owned by the EDF Group (80.5%) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI – 19.5%). In the UK we are currently over 300 strong and our plans are to grow to 400-500 by 2025 through the development of our UK nuclear service offerings. Due to our ongoing projects, we are currently recruiting a Lead Quality Inspector to join our team at Hinkley Point C.

Detailed key responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with the Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures to assure continuing compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
2. Liaise with internal and external customers on Quality concerns.
3. Lead daily team meetings with onsite quality inspectors.
4. Liaise with Construction Managers to understand expectations for the day and allocate tasks to the quality inspection team.
5. Ensure compliance with the contract quality assurance plan.
6. Ensure compliance with customer and product specifications through rigorous inspections.
7. Monitor all inspection activities.
8. Monitor sub-contractors.
9. Support the approval of incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
10. Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
11. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for rework; confirming rework.
12. Deal with document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising rework and waste.
13. Keep measurement equipment in working condition by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
14. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
15. Accomplish quality and organising jobs by completing related results as needed.
16. Manage non-conformities and help to address them, managing corrective and preventative actions and organising their implementation.
17. Exchange with the client quality inspector and notify of upcoming inspections.
18. Compile SONIM’s (NOI’s) for the following day\’s activities and submission. Maintain shared quality working folders ensuring information within is up to date – Procedures, Weld books, Weld maps & drawings.
19. Maintain a deviation log to capture any issues raised detailing any FCR’s, NCR’s & RFI’s raised in relation to the project.
20. Aid in the review of reports, ITPs, weld information of current works.

• PCN L2 RT/Radiographic Interpretation (desirable)
• CSCS Managers and Professionals Test
