We are seeking a Layout & Piping Engineer to join our team in Sizewell to perform layout and piping studies for Framatome Ltd projects and ensure on time and on cost delivery. The engineer will support the company’s growth and strengthen the technical skills in the layout and piping field.
Key Activities:- In close co-ordination with the Lead Engineer on site, perform layout and piping studies, including site surveys, analysis of input data, clarification requests, identification of interfaces, link with other disciplines.
- Ensure the resolution of open points within the team and participate in the resolution of cross-functional technical issues with multidisciplinary stakeholders, internal or external including the Client.
- Produce site surveys, isometric drawings, support drawings, layout drawings, and general arrangement drawings.
- Support on-site installation activities.
- Support the Layout and Piping Discipline Manager for bids: analyse the contract requirements regarding layout and piping, identify the appropriate resources, plan the work.
- If needed, prepare work packages to be subcontracted and participate in kick-off meetings with subcontractors.
- Present and share progress to the Layout and Piping team.
- Contribute to the development of the layout and piping skills within the Engineering function, particularly the training and mentoring of newcomers.
- Site surveys, 3D-model, isometric drawings, support drawings, layout drawings, general arrangement drawings.
- Continuous improvement outputs: contributions, suggestions, lessons learnt, experience feedback from projects and continuous improvement actions.
- An engineer with several years of experience in layout and piping.
- Proficient in software and tools: Microsoft Word/Excel, Autodesk Plant 3D, AutoCAD, E3D/PDMS.
- Possessing key competencies: interpersonal and communication skills, proactive, influencing skills, ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative, ability to multi-task, logical thinking, results-focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
- Knowledgeable about standards like BS EN 13445 (Unfired Pressure Vessels), BS EN 13480 (Metallic Industrial Piping), ASME VIII Div. 2, ASME B31.1/3/4.
- Experience in layout and piping in industry, ideally in the nuclear industry.
- Able to communicate easily with other disciplines and help solve multi-disciplinary problems.
