What you will be doing?
Playing an integral part in co‑ordinating safety and quality activities within the Cranfield site, and liaising with other UK sites. Developing a Continuous Improvement approach HSEQ on the site. Safety is Framatome’s overarching value. Providing support and guidance on all HSEQ matters relating to the Cranfield site. Continuous improvement is a key part of our business and in this role, you will be very active in improving all aspects of HSEQ. Reporting operationally to the IMS Manager and hierarchically to the Deputy Head of QHSE, developing effective working relationships with the local Management Team to enable a first‑class safety, environmental and quality service to be delivered.
The QHSE Advisor will work closely with:
- The project, engineering and design teams to ensure that quality, health, safety and environmental within Integrated Management System is maintained, adhered to, developed and improved to meet our business needs, customers and regulatory requirements.
- With the engineering and project managers to ensure that QHSE programmes are communicated and deployed within Engineering BL and related agreed performance indicators measured and actioned upon when required.
- With the IMS Manager to ensure that the performance of the IMS is deployed and adhered to in the operational areas.
- With Framatome Head / Deputy Head of QHSE to inform of events and performances regarding QHSE, adherence to and evolution of regulatory framework in relation to the business.
System
Work with the Operations team to improve quality, health, safety and environmental performance at the site, improving the processes and reporting. Critically analyse current processes and report on potential improvements. Assist in implementing those improvements. Work with the wider QHSE functions and the IMS team to monitor and implement changes to the Management System.
Assurance
Report on QHSE KPI’s internally and externally. Organise operational inspections, audits and verification checks and act on the findings.
Technical Advice
Provide on‑site consultancy for the formulation of RAMS for off‑site activities. Ensure that Risk Assessments are written properly and staff read and understand them. Assist with the writing of quality plans for projects and overseeing their implementation.
Training
Coaching and mentoring site supervision in HSE practices, roles and responsibilities. Assist with developing internal training and awareness and delivering where required.
Engagement and Culture
Hold quality meetings and regular HSE meetings. Networks within Framatome Ltd and the wider European organisation to understand their processes and implement improvements to ours.
Profile Required Attributes
- IOSH / NEBOSH safety certificate
- Experience in Accident / Incident Investigation / Problem solving
- Experience in highly regulated industries; Experience of Nuclear industry is highly desirable
- Understanding of the key attributes of nuclear safety culture
- Demonstrable field engagement
- Good knowledge of performance management techniques and/or route cause analysis techniques (FMEA, A‑Z, 5 Whys LEAN, Six Sigma)

- Experience of implementing processes and procedures.
- On‑site experience of engineering, chemical, design activities
