The Sequence Lead reports operationally to the ITB manager. This role has responsibility for setting the contractual/budget/schedule within which the Engineering teams are going to operate, either from a yearly or end-to-end perspective. The execution of the works is the responsibility of the Engineering managers and Lot leaders.

Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Sequence 3 Task Order; including definition of the scope and formalisation in a Technical Assumption Note.
  • Reviews estimates and ensures consistency.
  • Delivery of the Task Order to the budget and time.
  • Responsible for the interface with counterparts at NNB, seeking for site need dates (SNDs) and enabling consistency with the L3 planning developed by Engineering teams.
  • Reports to NNB client to ensure the L2 schedule covers the scope at completion.
  • Manages Internal Change Requests by reviewing consistency and potential schedule impacts.
  • Operational management of the sequence 3 team.
  • Steers the process for Commercial Instructions and Early Warnings, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and proactive management of commercial risks.
  • Act as a main point of contact for NNB/MEH program management across all buildings of the Nuclear Island, especially in relation to MEH program management, while ensuring good connection at discipline and sub-area level.
  • Negotiate and frame MEH activities for HPC project and ensure alignment with other MEH entities.
  • Build and make approved the long-term strategy for MEH activities between EDV and EPR-E and support subsequent transfer of activities from EDV to EPR-E.
  • Monitors and evaluates risks and opportunities, ensuring clients are proactively informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Escalates emerging issues where necessary to Project Director.
  • Interfaces between NNB MEH Leadership and NNB Head of Functions for Civil, Steelwork and MEH and other internal parties involved in the Sequence 3.

Your background may include some of the following (not exhaustive):

  • Degree Level or equivalent in a relevant subject;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior engineering / leadership / project management;
  • Nuclear New Build, EPR or PWR experience;
  • Robust knowledge and extensive experience of the EPR design and engineering processes;
  • Project and delivery management experience;
  • Good understanding of requirements and expectations of UK laws, regulations, nuclear industry operating experience and best practices;
  • Leadership experience in a highly regulated, technical environment;
  • Excellent communication, organisational and people engagement skills;
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Exemplary team and pastoral management skills;
  • Ability to set, achieve and maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.

Languages (level): English - fluent; French - desirable.
