Responsibilities:

  • The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the development of technical deliverables including mechanical developments, calculations, design, specification, and design reviews.
  • Providing engineering support for projects to estimate scope of work and support the Engineering Design Manager for budgeting activities.
  • Interpreting design requirements from customers.
  • Working with the Engineering Team to provide product designs and design for test rigs.
  • Understanding and defining HSE requirements & CDM regulations.
  • Working with suppliers to define components for projects.
  • Proactively seeking best solutions and working autonomously.
  • Writing technical reports, utilising information from the analysis.
  • Providing supporting calculations and information for designs.
  • Developing project literature such as test, commissioning, and decommissioning procedures.
  • Actively participating in Design Reviews as well as HSE Reviews to assess whether a modification requires an impact analysis of the Design Requirements.
  • Ensuring the solutions identified during Design Reviews are correctly implemented.
  • Managing Design changes and Design Configurations.
  • Producing and verifying technical documentation in accordance with Framatome Limited processes, procedures, and instructions.
  • Producing specifications for equipment, supporting the procurement team on technical topics, and producing technical bid evaluations.
  • Assisting business development as technical support and technically supporting the bid process, writing technical proposals, and collecting costs for engineering activities.
  • Networking with companies and trade associations; assisting in engineering graduate development.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering (MEng or equivalent).
  • Working experience with Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Document Revision Control.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material sciences, etc.
  • Calculations for equipment and systems (commercial software and/or hand calculation, Excel, etc.).
  • Very good knowledge of standards for static and rotating equipment, such as EN13445, ASME VIII Div 1 & 2, API 610.
  • Experience with FMEA and HAZOP.
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly and understandably.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards.
  • HSE and quality knowledge.
