EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is a subsidiary of Edvance, a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, established in 2018 in charge of the design and realisation of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. In particular, EDF EPR-E UK is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and preparing the design replication and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project.

At HPC, we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. For the HPC and SZC project, we are looking to recruit for the role of I&C Cabling Engineer to support the development of the electrical discipline within EPR-E.

Within the cabling and routing team, the main responsibilities of the Cable Routing Engineer involve:

• Designing, developing, and reviewing the cable routing network of the HPC project in correlation with the UK cabling rules and the UK nuclear regulation.
• Producing routing deliverables and applying studies in specified buildings from the nuclear island using an optimised in-house routing software.
• Providing routing reports for delivery assuring the integrity of the output data and fulfilling the project requirements according to the UK routing rules.
• Interfacing with the layout team to provide routing reports to assess tray filling rates or address queries preventing routing production.
• Performing risk assessments and setting mitigation in the event of critical modifications.
• Providing user feedback concerning the use of the routing software and applying beta testing.
• Providing training and introduction to the cable routing software and the cable routing discipline, rules, and regulations.
• Participating in experience sharing activities.

Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in Electrical design.
• Knowledge of the EPR design principles.
• Ability to effectively manage own workload to produce high-quality documents and respect deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and accurately, both written and orally, in English.
• Proactive in developing positive working relations with others within the project.
• Continuously looking for opportunities to improve quality of engineering studies and documentation.
• Ability to productively coach and support others within the team.
• Ability to prioritise and manage numerous tasks with other stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

• Knowledge of EPR system design principles and nuclear safety classification.
• Knowledge of EDF internal tools used for cabling design.
• Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and its application within the HPC project.
• Knowledge of RCC-E.
• Experience using CAD tools such as PDMS/E3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD.

• English fluent (required).
