We are seeking a Business Line Lead here to join our team in Avonmouth to support the Head of Business Line (BL) in the effective management, coordination and delivery of the New Build Business Line activities. The Business Line Lead (BLL) is a senior leadership role responsible for supporting the Head of Business Line (BL) in driving the effective leadership, performance and execution of the New Build Business Line strategy and operational objectives.

The role plays a critical part in enabling sustainable growth through the increase of Order Intake (OiT), revenue and Operating Income, whilst supporting operational excellence and the delivery of strategic business outcomes. The Business Line Lead will champion Framatome’s values and culture and actively drive initiatives focused on improving efficiency, reducing lead times and enhancing overall business performance.

Working cross-functionally, the Business Line Lead will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Functional Leaders, Commercial teams, Customers and wider stakeholders to ensure alignment, effective decision-making and successful delivery across the Business Line portfolio. The role requires the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence across a broad remit, spanning operational leadership, commercial negotiations, contract management, business development and strategic execution.

The Business Line Lead will act as deputy to the Head of Business Line, assuming leadership responsibilities during periods of absence, competing priorities or delegated authority, representing the Business Line internally and externally as required. While direct ownership of the Business Line P&L remains with the Head of BL, the Business Line Lead will hold accountability for the execution and delivery of delegated objectives, ensuring activities are delivered safely, commercially and operationally in line with agreed business targets, governance requirements and customer expectations.

The Business Line Lead will work closely:

  • With Project Managers to support the successful delivery of projects and customer commitments;
  • With functional managers to support effective resource planning, workload management and capability development;
  • With commercial and sales teams to support business development activities, tender preparation and contract negotiations;
  • With QHSE teams to promote a strong safety, quality and continuous improvement culture;
  • With finance and project controls teams to support reporting, forecasting and performance monitoring activities.

Profile

  • HND or Degree in relevant Engineering, Project Management, Commercial or Manufacturing discipline
  • Project Management qualification or certification (APM, PMI, Prince2 or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in project delivery within a regulated industry environment
  • Experience supporting or leading commercial and contract management activities (NEC, FIDIC, bespoke contracts, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, delivery controls and customer relationship management
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders and sales/business development activities
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture principles
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
  • Experience engaging directly with customers and senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 19443)
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively resolve issues
  • Commercially aware with good understanding of financial and operational drivers
  • Strong administrative, reporting and presentation skills
  • Good understanding of health, safety and quality requirements within project delivery environments
  • Experience in highly regulated industries
  • Experience within the nuclear industry is highly desirable
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office and business reporting tools
