We are seeking a Welder to join our team in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater to play a critical role by joining stainless steel parts together through the use of heat using the TIG (141) and/or MMA (111) process both manual and semi-automatic equipment.

What will you be doing?

  • Setting up, maintaining, and operating welding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Applying knowledge of metallurgy and material properties to the welding process.
  • Understanding and ensuring work is done in compliance with relevant WPS.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensuring the work is done safely and meets quality standards.
  • Providing a highest level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Following company rules and policies.
  • Good time keeping.
  • A good level of fitness and resilience.
  • Ensuring efficient and safe operations while adhering to project specifications and standards.

What are we looking for?

  • BS EN ISO 9606 Coded Welding Qualification to be completed at the Avonmouth facility.
  • Entry level trade test for NNB at the Bridgwater college conducted by the ECITB.
  • One of the below:
    • Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding or Fabrication discipline.
    • Welding apprenticeship or an equivalent apprenticeship in a Welding discipline (Minimum Level 5 in the above if apprenticeship/qualification awarded in Scotland).
  • Plus:
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Welder in a relevant industry verified against the job role via a Competency Based Interview with management company subject matter expert (SME).
    • Or a minimum of 5 years' verified experience as a Welder in a relevant industry and a Competency Based Interview against Job Role with the NNB Welding SME.
  • CCSNG Safety Passport Required: Need to fit the MEH matrix to weld on HPC.
  • A welding Diploma or apprenticeship.
  • Ideal experience for this position would include:
    • Experience in multiple welding processes to include TIG (141), MMA (111) and FCAW (136).
    • A keen attitude with a willingness to work and learn with a good attitude to health and safety but also when to say there is a problem to preserve the quality of the Framatome product.
