We are seeking a JDO Equipment Engineer to join our team in HPC. Within this position you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clarification of the deliverables necessary for the construction with the help of the Back Office (EPR E, EDVANCE, CNEPE).
  • Gathering input data, analysing/updating hypothesis notes and loading description reports.
  • Performing mechanical stresses analyses.
  • Assessing equipment anchorage capacity.
  • Potentially valve calculations.
  • Proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications to equipment.
  • Closing of open points and comments.
  • Assessing and answering technical issues arising during manufacturing, construction works, erection.
  • Assessing and integrating modifications arising after packages handed-over to JDO.
  • Undertaking hand calculations and running anchorage macros to assess the feasibility of a proposed modification.
  • Checking calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies.
  • Proposing improvements for studies not yet finalised.
  • Maintaining Edvance’s QA procedures in delivering the design.
  • Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings.
  • Leading technical meetings with suppliers or any other necessary support entities.
  • Interfacing with several stakeholders.
  • Providing technical solutions to construction issues.
  • Conducting analytical calculations.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary topics with multiple stakeholders.
  • Contributing to a high performing team in a fast-paced environment to support HPC construction.

The engineer should possess good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. The engineer must have the ability to take a strategic view, manage a multiplicity of interfaces, summarise, be proactive, and meet commitments and deadlines. The engineer will be required to write clear well-presented technical documents and apply logical thinking.

Ideal experience for this position would include:

  • Science, mechanical engineering degree.
  • 0 to 10 years of experience in specification, design, procurement and installation of mechanical components.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organisation, writing ability.
  • Fluent English.
  • Good organisational, writing and oral expression skills are essential.

Desirable qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of RCC-E code.
  • French speaker is a bonus.
  • Field experience.
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR.
  • Experience in the management of transverse technical and contractual topics.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage numerous interfaces, question and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines.
  • Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.

This role will require BPSS Clearance.
