Installed Base BU is in charge of Framatome's nuclear engineering and services for operating nuclear plants, for new build projects and for installations in the decommissioning phase. Safety is our overarching value and Quality is like safety being integral to the nuclear safety culture driving our operations and being at the core of our customers' business. As part of our growth, we have integrated the QHSE function to serve the overall operations of Framatome Ltd in the UK and liaise with Framatome Group in this respect.

The QHSE organisation is in charge of:

  • The ownership of the Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, Radioprotection processes, systems and tools as well as the related reporting at both Framatome Ltd and Group level.
  • The development, management and continuous improvement of the overall Management system with the various process owners to ensure the effectiveness of our processes and procedures.
  • The implementation of Nuclear Safety initiatives to ensure that a strong nuclear safety culture is maintained across our organisation and is flowed down to our supply partners.
  • The implementation of Group wide programs and initiatives in relation to QHSE (e.g. 5 Top Killers).
  • The assurance of the management system, development and maintenance of related certifications (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO19443) and customer‑based qualifications (at company level or project‑based level, e.g. GQAS (General Quality Assurance Specification) and other related standards relevant to our activities, as well as the performance of internal audits, supplier audits, and any other relevant assurance activities).
  • Providing the executive team and the board with advice and support to ensure that the company is meeting its regulatory requirements (e.g. CDM).

The QHSE Coordinator will work closely with:

  • The Supervising Technical Coordinator to integrate digital solutions with procedural and system requirements.
  • Various process owners in the business to ensure that health and safety within the Integrated Management System is maintained, adhered to, developed, and improved to meet our business needs, customers and regulatory requirements.
  • The IMS Manager to support the maintenance and administration of the IMS.
  • The Head of Function to prepare and maintain QHSE reports and performance indicators for management review.

The QHSE Coordinator will directly:

  • Assist with document control, records management and version tracking of policies, procedures and technical documents.
  • Coordinate audits (internal, external, and regulatory), ensuring corrective and preventative actions are tracked and closed.
  • Maintain records related to risk assessments, non‑conformances, safety inspections, incident investigations, and training compliance.
  • Maintain QHSE management databases and software.
  • Track training records and certifications for staff, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Organise QHSE committee meetings, prepare agendas, and draft minutes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the QHSE Managers and wider team.

What are we looking for:

  • Experience or qualifications in business administration, engineering, safety management, or related field (preferred).
  • Prior experience in a support or administrative role.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Desired Attributes:

  • Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
  • Auditor training (internal or external) desirable.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety/environmental qualification advantageous.

This role has the potential to lead to a structured Apprenticeship programme in either disciplines of Quality, Health & Safety and/or Environment for candidates where there is an interest.

Salary and Benefits:

For this role, we are offering a salary of £32,000 – £35,000 dependent on experience, plus benefits, including, but not limited to:

  • 25 days annual leave per year.
  • 8% employer pension contribution (salary sacrifice).

This role can be based either at our Cranfield or Avonmouth offices.
