Framatome is one of the main contractors for the construction of Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant, overseeing the design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of primary circuit components.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage the fleet of calibrated tools at HPC site, including signing out tools and ensuring accurate data entry for full traceability.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all issued tools and associated certificates.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure tool availability.
  • Organise tools systematically on racking for efficient access and inventory control.
  • Create tool batches to ensure sufficient calibrated tools are always available.
  • Ensure all failed or uncalibrated tools are securely stored and clearly labelled with "not calibrated" stickers.
  • Test torque wrenches and complete pre-issue paperwork prior to release.
  • Collect tools requiring recalibration and coordinate their shipment and documentation updates.
  • Notify relevant teams of any failed tools and trace previous usage.
  • Maintain copies of calibration certificates and issue certificates when tools are signed out.
  • Create and assign 98 numbers for newly purchased tools.
  • Liaise with Trescal/Chalon and other calibration providers regarding queries and errors.
  • Record and update all calibration information in coswin and excel databases.
  • On receipt of calibrated tools, verify certificates for accuracy and completeness.
  • Create the coswin front for each tool.
  • Apply the appropriate green/gold calibration stickers.
  • Record any failed or disposed tools and ensure coswin is updated accordingly.
  • Escort Trescal driver from south plaza to the HHA building-HHA building to south plaza.
  • Ensure all tools on the trescal consolidated packing list are present when returned back from calibration.
  • Distribute relevant calibration certification documents to the quality and surveillance departments on request.

Profile

  • Experienced person in calibration, used to manage a fleet of tools.
  • Experience in working with Framatome Chalon calibration department (IB) and knowledge in COSWIN software (training will be provided in France).
  • Knowledge of installation activities will be beneficial.
