Description: Our client is a respected discretionary investment manager, who are seeking to appoint an experienced private client Investment Manager to their stable team. As an Investment Manager, you will be responsible for advising and managing individually tailored portfolios designed to achieve client’s investment objectives to enhance their wealth. We are keen to speak to those with a proven track record of managing a high-net-worth client base.
The role will include meeting clients to understand their investment aims and attitude to risk, asset allocation, portfolio maintenance, maintaining a good understanding of the macro environment, being a highly responsive point of contact, and building relationships with professional intermediaries. This role is in Northeast Scotland and office based until probation and will then move to hybrid.
Key responsibilities

Manage a range of advisory and discretionary portfolios advising and tailoring them to achieve the client’s investment objectives within the agreed timescales.

Maintain and enhance client relationships to the highest possible standard, regularly meeting with them to provide updates and discuss new business.

Develop client portfolios to meet the client’s objectives, determining their suitability, investment performance and tax considerations.

Carry out marketing, business development and networking activities as required by the firm, including pitching documents & presentations, to existing and prospective clients.

Maintain your knowledge of investments, stock markets and FCA regulation, carrying out your own research for investment ideas and contributing to it in articles.

Process trades on behalf of clients.

Attend and actively contribute to investment and research committee meetings.

Actively contribute towards the firm’s long-term strategic goals and objectives.

Report and remain aware of any risks which may be detrimental to clients or to the firm’s reputation, which arise from inadequate procedures, systems, or data handling.

To act with integrity and for the benefit of the clients, in accordance with the objectives and cross cutting rules of Consumer Duty
An ideal candidate will be Level 6 or 7 with the CISI however our client will consider level 4. Have experience of working in an investment and stock broking environment, with good interpersonal skills, both written and oral to provide an excellent client-focused service. Detailed knowledge of all aspects of investment and the stock markets. Good presentation and stakeholder management skills.
