The role

Reporting to a Manager or Supervising Paralegal, this role will assist in case processing (reviewing and preparing forms, support letters and Firm correspondence) and assist in the maintenance of case files within the team. They will help maintain a moderate level of cases under supervision.

What your day will look like

  • Perform intake of cases once assigned and ensure case is correctly set up on Connect
  • Preparation of petition-based US immigration matters including family and business immigration cases, including legal drafting
  • Preparation of US consular cases, including non-immigrant and immigrant visa matters
  • Maintain client contact information
  • Keeps Associates aware of the progress of matters to manage expectations, and informs of conflicting priorities/requesting assistance as problems arise / informing of current capacity
  • Take on additional projects as required

The team

The Fragomen Consular Practice team provides consular and substantive US immigration assistance for both stand‑alone cases and as part of a larger immigration application process. The team offers client‑centric service for complex and sensitive immigration matters while also maximising efficiencies, ensuring ownership of work and empowering team members to design work practices to meet client expectations. The team also builds partnerships with Fragomen teams across the US to support a diverse and exciting range of clients.

  • Previous US immigration experience
  • Strong background in a client facing role
  • Experience in managing a high volume case load
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with team members
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to plan workload often with conflicting deadlines, able to meet deadlines and priorities for own work, considering delivery expectations and agreed client service standards
  • Accurate work style; focus on details
