The role of the Paralegal is to provide support services, using case management systems and digital platforms, working in a supportive role to the fee earners.

Principal duties and responsibilities

  • Deliver practical services of outstanding quality that are focused on the Client’s needs and quick turnaround of work.
  • Assist with the provision of legal services and to provide assistance to fee-earners.
  • Liaise with fee-earner as to required tasks, deal with queries, agree action etc.
  • Follow up matters and action points arising from meetings.
  • Prepare files for matter progression.
  • Liaise with third parties regarding outstanding items, chase documentation.
  • Day to day responsibility for Portal claims / cases, from submission to conclusion.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by fee-earner.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Good understanding of England & Wales law and associated procedures.
  • MS Office applications.

Skills and Qualities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Organised and methodical.
  • Takes the initiative and has good judgment in terms of own resource management and also involving others.
  • Team player, with willingness to help others and who shares information and knowledge to help deliver a joint outcome.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise conflicting objectives.
  • Able to deal appropriately with confidential information.
