An exciting new opportunity has arisen with my Legal 500 client based in Nuneaton. My client is looking for a Wills and Probate Paralegal/Executive within the Private Client Department. This role would suit someone with at least one year’s experience working as a Paralegal/Wills and Probate Executive supporting a fee earner in a busy Private Client Department.

Duties

  • Attend to clients
  • Produce accurate detailed work to ensure excellence in legal services
  • Maintain files and ensure efficient case management of Private Client matters
  • Draft any documentation in accordance with efficient file management including correspondence, briefs, court documentation, full attendance notes and statements of evidence
  • Time record in accordance with the Firm’s policy and prepare bills as necessary
  • Attend to clients in the office or in their homes
  • Undertake work necessary to build up maintain and manage a caseload
  • Undertake any reasonable instructions made by Directors, Department Heads or Fee Earners within the limits of this job description
  • Attend department meetings as required

Experience

  • At least one year’s experience working within a Private Client Department as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant supporting a Fee Earner
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook and good keyboard skills
  • Ability to work within quality and case management systems (e.g. Lexcel and Tikit)
  • Dynamic in approach and uses initiative when dealing with clients or potential clients
  • A positive approach to customer service
  • A team player and flexible in approach
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations and difficult clients in a professional, confidential manner
  • Sufficient knowledge of the legal process to understand the work being undertaken
  • Knowledge of the work of a Private Client Department and the relevant law an advantage
  • Experience of legal procedures preferred
  • Driving licence and use of own vehicle preferable but ability to travel between offices, courts and stakeholder office essential
