We are an established law firm with offices based in East London, recruiting for the position of Trainee Paralegal. We are currently seeking a hardworking candidate to assist an immigration lawyer at our East London branch. The candidate will work closely and exclusively with our Head of Department, having the opportunity to learn about immigration and civil law in practice.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Head of Department
- Liaise with clients and take notes
- Observe client meetings
- Assist with casework in immigration law
- Review correspondence and prepare letters
- Identify key dates in court documents
- Assist with administrative duties such as photocopying and file maintenance
- Assist with new client enquiries
- Conduct legal research and make applications
The candidate must be organised, reliable, and punctual. We require a candidate who can commute to our East London office daily, as remote working will not be possible for this vacancy. Our East London branch is within walking distance of Upton Park station.
We are a firm keen to progress staff careers and are seeking self‑motivated candidates who work well under pressure and with a high caseload. We welcome all candidates regardless of experience, including those who have completed or are currently studying LLB, LPC, BVC, etc. An interest in immigration law is desirable, but experience is not essential. The desire to progress and take initiative is paramount.
It is imperative to prove a hardworking ethic in a time‑and‑high‑pressure environment. The candidate must take accountability and ensure they are prompt and can work with the in‑house systems and take on a caseload after receiving the relevant training.
