You will be joining our small but friendly and experienced team, who are committed to delivering a first-class customer service. The team works in a collaborative, supportive way whilst delivering Homes England’s priorities. This is a rare chance to join the General Counsel’s Office in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose.

Working with multiple professional teams within Homes England, external solicitors and members of the public, you will deal with varied transactions relating to our legacy land interests including restriction consents, release of charges, routine conveyancing transactions, and general queries. There will also be the opportunity to become involved in the wider work of the Legal Development team who provide legal support to the Agency’s Development directorate.

Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate. You’ll be able to understand and interpret legal documents quickly, and effectively decide how a matter should be dealt with. You’ll need to be good at prioritising your caseload and working at pace. Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing a large caseload with an understanding of the environment we operate in as a public body. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade. You’ll be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

You’ll have a Law degree/Graduate diploma in Law or CILEX qualification.

As well as a competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are committed to 50/50 hybrid working. We’ll support you, wherever possible, so that you don’t miss out on what matters to you. We offer a defined benefit pension scheme. If you are a member of a professional body, we’ll pay for your membership and once you get your digital kit, you’ll be good to go.

Homes England are a geographically diverse community. We work to a 50/50 office/home-based model. Moving back into our office environments has enabled us to utilise our space and time together in the most collaborative way. We would encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early should we receive a high number of applications. We also encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.
