We are an established high street law firm committed to providing a personal, friendly and professional service to our clients. We have an opportunity for a paralegal/legal assistant to join us at our Lampeter Office to provide support in our wills, probate and private client department. This would ideally suit a law graduate or an individual who has completed the Legal Practice Course; however, applications will be considered from graduates in any other subject interested in pursuing a career in law. There will be the opportunity to advance within the firm for the right candidate.
Key Duties
- To be the first point of contact for clients either face to face or via telephone
- To deal with ongoing enquiries from clients in person or via telephone and email
- Drafting legal documents to include Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate Summaries and Estate Accounts under the supervision of a Director and Senior Solicitor
- Attending meetings with clients alongside a Senior Solicitor
- Liaising with HMRC, the Probate Registry, the Office of the Public Guardian as well as financial advisers, banks etc
- Assisting with other administrative and drafting tasks as required
Person Specification
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive situations with empathy
- Strong IT skills with ability to use the full Microsoft Office Suite
- Efficient and well-organised with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly
- A conscientious team player with a willingness to learn from (and provide support to) others
- Ability to communicate in Welsh desirable
- No legal experience required but advantageous
