YOU MUST have at least 12 months experience working within a UK law dealing with criminal matters to be considered for this role. All other applications WILL NOT be considered. I am currently working with a highly accomplished Law firm who are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their Crime team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm that offers genuine routes to progress internally, with continued training and development, as well as a supportive, friendly, and driven work environment.

You will:

  • Have at least 12 months experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant working within a busy Crime team.
  • Have at least 12 months experience within a UK Law firm.
  • Have experience dealing with a variety of criminal matters, including: assault, public order, sexual offences, and other offences in the Magistrates and Crown Court.
  • Be able to take initiative, work independently, adapt to the shifting priorities of a busy workload, as well as being able to effectively liaise between solicitors, clients, Courts, and other third parties.

The role:

  • To assist senior Crime Solicitors, including but not limited to:
  • Support and assist fee earners with all aspects of case preparation.
  • Draft a wide range of documents, including witness statements.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Process and organise evidence.
  • Prepare, collate, and order documentation.
  • Attend client meetings, case conferences, and court hearings.
  • Handle new enquiries.
  • Attend ongoing training to stay updated on relevant legal developments.
  • Prepare court bundles.
  • Perform various administrative tasks.
