Established in 1977, Warners is one of Edinburgh's leading solicitor firms offering residential conveyancing, private client and estate agency services to our clients. We are currently looking to recruit an experienced paralegal or solicitor in our well-established residential conveyancing team.
The role will involve:
- Dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing including:
- Taking a client's instructions
- Advising clients on legal issues relating to their case
- Drafting documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client's individual needs
- Negotiating with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives
- Coordinating the work of all parties involved
- Corresponding with clients and opposing solicitors
- Working in a busy team, referring cases to relevant partner as required
- Arranging and attending further client meetings where necessary to progress with the case and finalise documentation
- Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the law by undertaking a range of CPD activities throughout career.
- Manage a high-volume caseload as delegated by the work allocation team.
- Provide excellent client service to ensure the values of the firm are being always represented.
The role will have a focus on new-build transactions including plot purchases, part-exchanges and associated sales.
The successful candidate will:
- Have extensive knowledge and experience in residential conveyancing law.
- Be well organised and attentive to detail
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise large workloads
- Have good communication skills
- Work effectively on own as well as with other team members
- Be comfortable with common Microsoft programmes including Outlook, Word and Excel.
