Hayward Hawk are working in partnership with one of Belfast's leading law firms to recruit a Litigation Paralegal to join their busy team.
The role:
- Assisting Fee Earners on large transactions
- Efficient and timely preparation and management of files/documents
- Drafting letters and legal documentation/contracts
- Proofreading legal documents
- Preparing briefs and e-bundles
- Assisting staff during consultations and at court
- Performing searches from various sources
- Conducting due diligence and discovery
- Performing legal research
- Attending client/Counsel meetings as required
- Liaise with clients and third parties as needed via email, telephone, etc
- Handle administrative tasks, including file opening and payments, to ensure cases progress efficiently and promptly
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures
- Deliver documents, serve subpoenas, swear affidavits, and obtain signatures as required
The candidate:
- Experience working in an insurance litigation environment
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet manipulation
- Demonstrating flexibility to assist own and other departments across the firm, including working reasonable overtime as required
- Showing self-motivation, appropriate use of initiative, and eagerness for self-development
- Being a good team player, both with clients and within the firm
- Performing all duties in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner
- Quickly communicating relevant matters to the team, especially problems, difficulties, or mistakes
