Hayward Hawk are working in partnership with one of Belfast's leading law firms to recruit a Litigation Paralegal to join their busy team.

The role:

  • Assisting Fee Earners on large transactions
  • Efficient and timely preparation and management of files/documents
  • Drafting letters and legal documentation/contracts
  • Proofreading legal documents
  • Preparing briefs and e-bundles
  • Assisting staff during consultations and at court
  • Performing searches from various sources
  • Conducting due diligence and discovery
  • Performing legal research
  • Attending client/Counsel meetings as required
  • Liaise with clients and third parties as needed via email, telephone, etc
  • Handle administrative tasks, including file opening and payments, to ensure cases progress efficiently and promptly
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures
  • Deliver documents, serve subpoenas, swear affidavits, and obtain signatures as required

The candidate:

  • Experience working in an insurance litigation environment
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet manipulation
  • Demonstrating flexibility to assist own and other departments across the firm, including working reasonable overtime as required
  • Showing self-motivation, appropriate use of initiative, and eagerness for self-development
  • Being a good team player, both with clients and within the firm
  • Performing all duties in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner
  • Quickly communicating relevant matters to the team, especially problems, difficulties, or mistakes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year

Additional pay: Company pension, Private medical insurance, Work from home

Schedule: Monday to Friday
