About the Role

The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of equipment, materials, tooling, and consumables required for engineering and operational activities. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure components meet performance, safety, and traceability requirements, while optimising cost and lead time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management
    • Maintain and develop an approved supplier list
    • Identify and onboard new suppliers for specialised engineering components
    • Build strategic supplier relationships
    • Ensure traceability documentation (Declarations of Conformity, Material Certificates, etc.)
  • Purchasing & Equipment Acquisition
    • Procure equipment, tooling, fixtures, fittings, consumables, and test ancillaries
    • Arrange generators, additional power supply, and storage infrastructure as required
    • Monitor supplier performance and manage delivery schedules
  • Cost & Efficiency Optimisation
    • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and lead time
    • Improve procurement processes and ensure compliance
    • Support scalable supply chain development as production grows
  • Logistics & Transport
    • Organise transport via couriers, customs clearance, or company vehicles
    • Coordinate timely and accurate delivery of goods
  • Documentation & Traceability
    • Maintain full material and equipment traceability
    • Ensure compliance with engineering, regulatory, and project requirements

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Procurement experience within engineering or technical environments
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
  • Understanding of supply chain logistics and documentation
  • Familiarity with regulatory and traceability requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems

Desirable

  • Experience arranging specialised equipment and tooling for technical projects
