FPSG\’s client is a rapidly expanding Financial Services Consultancy, building a niche team with autonomy and technical creativity, embedded in a rapidly growing market leader. This squad development environment needs strong software engineers who have excellent core Java server-side engineering skills and the ability to influence the design & architecture of the software and applications around them.
To progress in this role, candidates must be able to demonstrate their abilities through participating in several major projects, delivering on complex Core Java development where there has been significant server-side exposure.
Role Responsibilities
This role will appeal to software engineering enthusiasts that are committed to all areas of the development cycle. Candidates may have worked at various stages of software development but must be comfortable with the focus on server-side solutions.
All engineers will have an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement through a collaborative agile development approach. The post is not prescriptive, and all development will follow an iterative fashion with engagement from various stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Product Owners, Users, etc.
Person Specification
- Advanced SQL skills; Sybase and/or DB2 is preferable.
- Familiar with continuous improvement environments.
- Familiarity with tech stack: Java, Spring, Linux, Scala.
- Familiar with Agile, SCRUM, and iterative development.
- Knowledge of integration skills, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes.
- The ability to demonstrate career experience in one or more of the following: multi-threaded engineering techniques, data structures, concurrency, interactive messaging services.
**NB** Please only apply if you are a Java Developer who lives or can commute to Glasgow and commit to 3 days a week in the office. Relocation for the role can be considered, but please highlight and explain the rationale/parameters on application.
