As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, unload, and check incoming goods for quality and quantity.
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet trucks and forklifts (training provided if required).
- Carry out stock checks, cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety issues promptly to management.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work physically demanding tasks including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in order processing.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends if required.
- Basic IT skills for data entry and scanning tasks.
