Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Pay: £14.80 per hour whilst temporary, increasing to £30,000 - £32,000 per annum upon securing the permanent position

We are currently recruiting for a Reception and Compliance Officer to join a prestigious commercial office building in Central London. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, where you will initially work on a temporary basis before being offered a permanent position, subject to your performance and client approval. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced receptionist or front-of-house professional looking to take on a broader role that combines customer service, building operations, compliance, and facilities coordination within a professional office environment.

The Role

As the first point of contact for tenants, visitors, and contractors, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operation of the building. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a professional and welcoming front-of-house service
  • Managing visitor sign-ins, enquiries, calls, and emails
  • Coordinating meeting room bookings and ensuring spaces are presented to a high standard
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post, parcels, and deliveries
  • Maintaining reception and communal areas to an exceptional standard
  • Supporting building security procedures and visitor management processes
  • Monitoring access control systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with cleaning, maintenance, and facilities contractors
  • Reporting maintenance issues, security concerns, and health & safety matters
  • Assisting with fire evacuations, emergency procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Providing general administrative support and maintaining building records

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a Receptionist, Front of House, Concierge, or Customer Service role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional, well-presented, and proactive approach
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to multitask and work independently
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Experience within a commercial office or property environment
  • Knowledge of health & safety, compliance, or security procedures
  • Experience using visitor management or access control systems
