A well-established independent residential managing agent is looking for a senior service charge accountant to take a lead role within its finance function. This is a senior position with real influence, combining technical service charge expertise with client interaction and process improvement. You will play a key part in strengthening financial controls, supporting a recently implemented property management system, and acting as a trusted adviser to internal teams and clients. Hybrid working after probation.
You will take ownership of a complex residential portfolio, ensuring service charge accounts are prepared accurately and in line with TECH03/11 and RICS guidance. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing annual service charge accounts
- Managing and reconciling client accounts
- Supporting budget preparation and financial reporting
- Acting as an internal expert on QUBE, improving data integrity and reporting
- Liaising with auditors and ensuring accounts are audit-ready
- Supporting arrears management and strengthening financial controls
- Advising Property Managers and clients on financial matters
This role suits someone who can operate independently while contributing to wider process improvements across the department.
You will have:
- 5+ years' service charge accounting experience within residential block management
- Strong knowledge of TECH03/11 and RICS requirements
- Advanced experience using QUBE
- A professional accounting qualification, part-qualified status, or equivalent experience
- The confidence to manage complex portfolios and communicate clearly with clients
