We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to join our team to support our multi-disciplinary environmental and design Practice. This role will suit an experienced HR Manager who has a strong background in employee relations, data analysis and current employment legislation. Empathetic and professional, you will be comfortable managing complex cases and navigating sensitive issues. The successful person will enjoy variety and working closely with managers to deliver practical, business-focused HR advice.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, you will work across the full employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted advisor to managers across the Practice. The role is based at our head office at Lockington Hall (near East Midlands Airport, M1 J24), and the successful applicant would join our growing Business Support Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end HR function, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance the HR service.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
  • Interpret and manage HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with employment law.
  • Provide day-to-day support and advice to managers on people matters.
  • Lead and manage complex processes including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance, and capability issues ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • Ensure HR systems and records are accurate, compliant, and meet legal requirements.
  • Collate and analyse HR data and report on key metrics (e.g. turnover, absence, attendance) to support decision-making.
  • Line manage the HR Assistant, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and supporting development to ensure an efficient and customer focused HR service.
  • Liaise with our external HR advisor.
  • Coordinate and track learning and development activities across the organisation.

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Essential
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS guidelines.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases independently.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full employee lifecycle and HR best practice.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Desirable
  • Experience of managing HR staff.
  • Experience of analysing and producing reports on HR data.

Hours

Hours are flexible – the position would ideally be 28 hours per week; however, we would consider 21 - 35 hours per week.

Salary

The salary range is £30,000 - £35,000 (based on full-time 35 hours per week). Actual salary offered will be based on experience. Bonuses are paid in addition to this.
