This role is platform-agnostic, designed to work across various hardware and software ecosystems, ensuring seamless data integration and compatibility. Leveraging expertise in building automation technologies and communication protocols, the engineer connects disparate systems regardless of brand or manufacturer, enabling secure and optimized data flow for real-time analytics, remote monitoring, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Success requires a fast learner with strong communication skills, able to respond to shifting priorities and make informed decisions quickly, even with limited information. This role supports digital transformation for smart buildings, creating data-driven, future-ready facility management solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure smooth integration, optimization, and security of applications on cloud platforms.
  • Troubleshoot issues, manage performance, and align cloud solutions with business objectives.
  • Delivery of technical and some non-technical related engineering services and projects for clients in accordance with the Proposal, Scope of Work (SoW) and/or Engagement Letter.
  • Manage own workload, communicating and escalating any issues to line manager accordingly.
  • Assess and analyze existing building systems, including BMS, HVAC, lighting, energy, and IoT devices.
  • Map and document building systems architecture to ensure compatibility with cloud migration strategies.
  • Configure cloud infrastructure to receive and process data from various building systems.
  • Develop and implement data flow protocols from on-premises building systems to cloud platforms, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to set up required services, storage, and data processing pipelines.
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot application drivers across a range of IoT devices and gateways.
  • Collaborate with device manufacturers to support driver development, improve compliance, and resolve integration issues.
  • Manage and maintain devices in an IoT testing lab, including physical installation, setup, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Support MSIs with deployment of compliant solutions and onboarding of building systems to Cloud Platforms.
  • Work with various tools and platform developers to identify defects, suggest improvements, and support feature validation.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and data privacy policies in data management.
