Our Capital Markets team is the leading practice of its kind in any professional services firm globally. It provides assurance and related services to clients accessing the capital markets. We provide regulatory and reporting advice with a focus on the United States of America (US) and United Kingdom (UK). For example, launching an initial public offering (IPO), US GAAP conversions, PE/M&A or implementing SOX.

This is a high-profile role working with some of our most interesting clients and offers an exciting opportunity to significantly enhance your career. We are seeking US or UK qualified accountants with significant PCAOB & SEC auditing and reporting experience. You will benefit from exposure to our SEC foreign private issuers and private companies preparing for a US IPO.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical accounting advice projects across a range of clients and locations across the EMEIA region
  • Producing reports and analysis of accounting issues related to capital raising strategies and regulatory matters
  • Working on assurance projects, taking responsibility for delivery of complex deadline-driven engagements
  • Building strong relationships both within EY and with international clients as you help companies execute their cross-border transactions
  • Coaching, mentoring, and playing a first-hand role in junior team members’ development

Skills and attributes for success:

Colleagues and clients will look to you for guidance, so you’ll be a prominent professional when it comes to resolving complex issues. As you build on your pre-existing knowledge and experience of PCAOB, US GAAP, and SEC accounting and reporting requirements, you’ll become an increasingly credible advisor, influencing clients and teams.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Fully qualified as a chartered accountant e.g. ACA / ACCA / CPA / ICAS / ICAEW or international equivalent
  • Extensive US GAAP or IFRS knowledge
  • Experience planning, leading, and executing assurance engagements
  • Controls design and implementation knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience auditing large USA listed companies
  • Sound technical knowledge of PCAOB audits and SEC reporting including SOX
  • Experience providing assurance services to clients undertaking capital raising strategies
  • Experience working in a globally recognised accountancy practice
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Team or project supervisory experience

What we look for:

You will possess extensive knowledge and experience working on PCAOB audits, including internal controls, capital raising and with complex accounting matters. This requires a confident professional who can effectively communicate and collaborate with teams and clients in a variety of countries. We’re interested in highly skilled and motivated professionals who are the leaders of tomorrow, take the initiative and seek opportunities to grow. If you are ready to take on some of our clients’ most complex challenges, this is the role for you.

What we offer:

EY is committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We strive to achieve the right balance for our people, enabling us to deliver excellent client service whilst allowing you to build your career without sacrificing your personal priorities. While our client-facing professionals can be required to travel regularly, and at times be based at client sites, our flexible working arrangements can help you to achieve a lifestyle balance. We offer a competitive remuneration package. Our comprehensive Total Rewards package includes support for flexible working and career development, and with FlexEY you can select benefits that suit your needs, covering holidays, health and well-being, insurance, savings and a wide range of discounts, offers and promotions.
