Foyle Womens Aid and Southall Black Sisters are seeking a committed and values driven Policy Officer with strong understanding of violence against women and girls (VAWG), immigration, asylum and NRPF issues. You will be passionate about influencing change, supporting campaigns, and advocating for Black, minoritised and migrant victim survivors. You should bring strong communication skills, policy insight, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver policy, public affairs and influencing work across VAWG, immigration, asylum and NRPF themes.
  • Draft policy briefs, statements and reports.
  • Organise seminars, conferences, and awareness raising events.
  • Represent Foyle Womens Aid and Southall Black Sisters at meetings and public engagements.
  • Support training, communication activities, and community engagement work.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and contribute to research, monitoring and evaluation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of: VAWG, honour based abuse, institutional racism, immigration & asylum systems.
  • Policy influencing, campaigning, and intersectional feminism.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high quality policy documents.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work on own initiative, and manage competing demands.
  • Commitment to anti discriminatory practice and SBS/FWA values.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends.
