The Network & Security Engineer will support both day-to-day network operations and infrastructure project delivery. The role will involve maintaining and improving network and security services across our headquarters, branch offices, data centres and cloud‑connected environments. The environment includes Cisco switching, routing and wireless, Cisco Firepower/FMC, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, Cisco Nexus data centre switching, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, AWS/Azure networking and third‑party managed MPLS WAN services. As we continue to develop our network strategy, experience with SD‑WAN technologies would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, maintain and improve the company's LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall and data centre network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network faults, performance issues, connectivity problems and security‑related incidents.
- Manage Cisco switching, routing and wireless infrastructure across headquarters, data centres and branch offices.
- Assist with secure wired, wireless and VPN access using technologies such as 802.1X, MAB and Cisco ISE.
- Support data centre networking, including Cisco Nexus switching and F5 load balancing.
- Work with third‑party providers for MPLS, WAN, internet circuits and managed router services.
- Contribute to network transformation projects, including future SD‑WAN initiatives.
- Monitor network performance, availability, utilisation and health alerts using SolarWinds, Cisco Prime or similar tools.
- Maintain network hardware/software lifecycle, documentation, diagrams and operational procedures.
- Work within ITIL-aligned change, incident, problem and project delivery processes.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and key stakeholders.
