The Cyber Security function is responsible for ensuring the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of our computer systems and sensitive information. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic IT team, whilst getting practical experience of Cyber Security. The role of the Cyber Security Analyst is to assist the Cyber Security Manager in day-to-day security monitoring activities, ensuring that security controls on existing systems are being maintained and defining security controls for new systems being introduced into the business.

You will support the Foxtons IT and business teams in resolving security issues and managing threats in an assured and pragmatic way, creating and maintaining a positive security environment and culture. You will optimise security to add value and protect the brand, enabling the company to retain its trusted position with its investors, customers, employees and regulators.

The successful candidate must have an enthusiasm for security, an analytical mind and a good understanding of IT. Some experience of cyber security is required but there will be plenty of opportunity to learn on the job, working alongside an experienced Cyber Security Manager. This role would be an ideal opportunity for somebody who has a good background in Security or compliance and wants to broaden their experience in the cyber security area. For the right candidate, there may also be the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor compute networks and systems for threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to incidents raised by SOC.
  • Test systems for potential vulnerabilities.
  • Review systems and processes for compliance to security standards.
  • Advise IT and business users on security best practice.
  • Assist in annual security assessments as well as ongoing testing.
  • Assist in preparing security reports.
  • Responsible for phishing and training campaigns.
  • Review and monitor 3rd parties for compliance.
  • Investigate any activities in breach of company policies and procedures.
About You:

Experience: General IT experience; Experience working in a cyber-security role.

Vital Skills:

  • A passion for cyber security and keen interest in IT.
  • Understanding of security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as Firewall, Intrusion Detection, Anti-malware, Content filter, DLP, etc.
  • Confident and able to make decisions and will take a pragmatic, proactive approach to work in order to respond to a variety of demands.
  • Strong communication skills, articulate and capable of producing high-quality written output, including policies, procedures, and reports.
  • Ability to constructively challenge, facilitate and probe to fully understand the business needs.
  • Ability to explain security controls to non-technical staff.
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware, and security.

Desired Skills: Any experience of the following:

  • Understanding of security standards and regulations (ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR, Cyberessentials).
  • Penetration testing.
  • Working with 3rd Party SOC teams.
  • Experience of working in dynamic environments.
  • CISSP, CEH.
