About the Role
No two days are the same in Procurement so this will be a varied, fast-paced role where you will gain exposure across the function. You need to thrive on this sort of environment, be curious and show positive energy and enthusiasm. Procurement is fundamental to the business. You’ll be hands-on, supporting the FBC UK Procurement Team, and you will get a taste of working in Procurement. You will contribute to purchasing goods, materials and services following defined guidelines to ensure the company’s operational needs and continuity of supply needs are met by considering price, quality, and delivery of purchase order and you will be working on continuous improvement projects. This is a full-time, 1-year FTC, hybrid role based in our headquarters in St Albans. As a graduate at Fox’s Burton’s Company (FBC UK), you’ll gain hands-on experience across various departments, mentorship from industry leaders, and the chance to work on exciting projects within your chosen function. With support and guidance from our Learning Team, Line Managers and working as part of an ambitious graduate cohort, you’ll gain valuable knowledge and skills in a company that has a rich heritage and a passion for crafting some of the UK’s most beloved biscuits. Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning and execution of category and financial strategies for specific projects, ensuring alignment between budget management and broader purchasing objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to help define procurement policies and standards, including quality, legal, environmental, and ethical criteria.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives, assist in the development of purchasing strategies, and participate in supplier negotiations in line with internal procedures.
- Help ensure competitive supplier selection, apply vendor management practices, and support the implementation of purchasing policies that align with technical, economic, and international financial standards.
- Monitor transactional activities and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse and evaluate supplier offers, and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity and shared goals.
- Support the application of contract standards and lead the project management of continuous improvement initiatives.
