Position Overview
Reed are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Fox's Burton's Companies (FBC UK) for a permanent Machine Minder role based at their Batley site (WF17 5JE). This is a full‑time position working weekend day shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am to 7 pm, offering a competitive pay rate of £12.90 per hour, paid monthly.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete pre‑start checks
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Carry out quality and specification checks
- Fault‑find and troubleshoot basic problems
- Support machine changeovers, line cleaning, start‑up and shut‑down procedures
- Work closely with Line and Process Leaders, communicate effectively with colleagues across the shift, and liaise with engineering teams when needed
- Ensure thorough handovers at the start and end of each shift
- Train new team members and learn additional plant and equipment as your skills develop
Essential Requirements
- English communication skills – ability to speak, read and understand English to follow instructions, adhere to safety procedures, and communicate effectively with team members
- Basic numeracy – capable of performing simple calculations to support operational tasks
- Attention to detail – skilled in monitoring processes, identifying inconsistencies and accurately completing documentation, including recording checks and line operations
- Hygiene awareness – committed to maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic working environment
- Machine operation – experience operating machinery and a basic understanding of mechanical processes, though full training will be provided
