About The Role
The Engineering Shift Lead will manage a shift engineering team at our Blackpool bakery, working closely with WMT’s & Operations teams to foster a “one team” environment and support daily target delivery while achieving site KPIs.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the shift engineering team to continuously improve plant reliability while meeting the requirements of a complex, high volume production site.
- Support embedding site principles within the Engineering team as part of the Blackpool Improvement Strategy.
- Support, motivate, develop and coach the team; recognise and reward performance and drive robust individual training plans.
- Assist the team to work towards maximum plant and equipment efficiency to minimise downtime.
- Ensure completion of planned maintenance documents / CMMS input.
- Work closely with WMT’s & Production staff to achieve daily targets.
Who We Are Looking For
- HND or above qualification in electrical/mechanical or equivalent relevant experience.
- CI qualified or strong understanding of principles, ideally Lean sigma green belt holder.
- Safety qualified to minimum IOSH managing safely.
- Proven experience of leading and managing an engineering team, ideally within an FMCG environment to improve overall site performance.
- Use of continuous improvement tools and techniques, in particular TPM.
- Experience of working in a unionised environment.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS.
