Job Opportunity: Production Machinist / CNC Operator We are collaborating with a reputable local engineering business to recruit a Production Machinist / CNC Operator responsible for producing finished parts using advanced CNC machinery. Our client specializes in manufacturing custom plastic components. Due to retirement, they are seeking a CNC engineer, setter, and programmer (turner) to produce intricate plastic parts across various industries. This role may suit a recently qualified apprentice with strong hands-on engineering skills or an experienced engineer looking to join a small, dynamic team. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, motivated, and capable of working independently to produce precision parts on Citizen CNC machines. Experience with plastics is not mandatory but advantageous; training will be provided for suitable candidates. We are looking for someone who: Is a self-starter with initiative Has experience in producing precision parts Can operate Citizen CNC sliding head machines Possesses sliding head experience Has a good engineering background or education in mechanical engineering Is a team player Can read and interpret engineering drawings Skills and Attributes: Good organization, planning, and prioritization skills Experience with manual production machines Proficiency in CNC machinery operation Ability to work independently Benefits and Working Conditions: Ongoing training opportunities Working hours: 08:00 – 16:30, weekdays, with overtime Full-time, permanent role Salary: £16.00 – £19.60 per hour Expected hours: 40-50 per week Benefits include company events, pension scheme, cycle-to-work, free and on-site parking Why Join Us?
