Due to increased production, we are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team to play a crucial part in ensuring components and assemblies meet exacting quality standards. Using your previous experience within a precision machining environment, you’ll be responsible for detailed inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance and traceability.
Responsibilities
- Perform First offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards and Final Inspections
- Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to customer requirements
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance systems and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Generate accurate inspection reports and document results as required
- Ensure all traceability documentation is recorded prior to product release or acceptance
- Ensure correct practice and legalities with respect to product quality and customer requirements
- Identify and report non-conformances, raising appropriate paperwork and following up as required
- Support root cause analysis and contribute to corrective and preventive actions
- Assist with third-party audits, providing inspection records and quality data as needed
- Issue sub-contract purchase orders where parts require additional processing
- Perform calibration of measuring equipment and control the calibration log
- Maintain a safe and organized working environment
Skills and Experience
- Experience of working in a precision machining environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in mechanical measurement using standard measurement tools, micrometers, vernier callipers, etc.
- Good understanding of GD
