The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Inventory Controller to join a well-established business in Northamptonshire on a 6-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong stock control, goods in, and goods out experience to play a key role in ensuring inventory accuracy and supporting the smooth operation of a busy warehouse and distribution environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised, and confident working with warehouse management systems, stock investigations, and reporting processes.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate stock control processes.
- Monitor and process all Goods In and Goods Out transactions.
- Ensure inventory records are accurately updated within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits.
- Support warehouse operations with inventory-related queries.
- Produce and maintain accurate stock and performance reports.
- Liaise with warehouse, transport, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Monitor stock movements and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure all inventory procedures comply with company policies and health & safety requirements.
- Assist with customer stock counts and periodic stock takes.
- Support operational teams during peak periods when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience working as an Inventory Controller, Stock Controller, Inventory Administrator, or similar role.
- Strong Goods In and Goods Out experience is essential.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience with a program called Wingman or Epicore would be an advantage.
- Excellent stock control and inventory management knowledge.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment is highly desirable.
- MHE/FLT licences would be advantageous but are not essential.
