About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Strategic Planning Officer to lead on key elements of our Local Plan development, focusing on finalizing the Regulation 19 content and supporting technical evidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take the lead on the strategic housing and employment strands, including developing policies, determining scale and distribution, and managing site allocations and appraisals.
- Oversee the production and coordination of bridging documents and ensure alignment with a wide range of appraisals and linked technical work.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to provide expert and technical advice to planning team members, ensuring coherence and quality across all Local Plan outputs.
- Maintain an overarching view of policy development, helping to shape a sound, robust, and evidence-based Local Plan that meets statutory requirements and reflects local priorities.
What We Are Looking For:
- You will have a strong background in spatial planning or a related field, with demonstrable experience in Local Plan preparation, particularly in relation to housing and employment policies.
- You should have excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills, along with the ability to lead complex workstreams.
