Fox HR Services is a growing HR consultancy based in Wolverhampton, supporting SMEs across the West Midlands and beyond. We work closely with business owners and leadership teams, providing practical, commercial HR advice and hands-on support across the full employment lifecycle.
As the business grows, we are looking for someone exceptional to join us and take on a significant portion of our client delivery work, particularly across employee relations casework.
This is a hands-on, client-facing HR Consultant role. You will manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters, from disciplinaries and grievances through to investigations, redundancies, and performance management, as well as providing day-to-day HR advice and support across a portfolio of SME clients.
You will represent Fox HR with our clients, acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SME clients, building strong, trusted relationships with MDs, CEOs, and senior managers.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Managing a caseload of ER matters independently, including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, redundancies, TUPE, and performance management.
- Providing clear, pragmatic, commercially aware HR advice, verbally and in writing.
- Drafting high-quality letters, outcome documents, policies, and correspondence.
- Supporting clients on day-to-day HR queries and employment law questions.
- Working closely with the Managing Director on complex or sensitive matters.
- Contributing to the development of HR toolkits, templates, and resources for clients.
What We Are Looking For:
- Solid, demonstrable experience managing ER casework independently from start to finish, within a UK employment law framework.
- A strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice, applied in real casework situations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to read a room and provide pragmatic advice.
- Strong attention to detail in documentation and correspondence.
- A responsive, proactive approach.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- A genuine team ethic.
- Based in the West Midlands or within easy commuting distance, with the ability to travel to client sites at short notice.
- The right to work in the UK.
It would be a bonus if you have:
- Experience working in an HR consultancy or multi-client environment.
- CIPD qualification at Level 5 or above.
- Knowledge of SME people challenges specifically.
What We Offer:
- £22,000 to £25,000 actual salary (3 days per week).
- Genuine flexibility on when you work.
- Remote working with travel to client sites across the West Midlands.
- A varied, interesting caseload across a range of sectors and business sizes.
- Direct access to and support from the MD.
- A small, close-knit team that works hard and enjoys the job.
- A business that values quality over volume, and people over process.
As part of your application, we would love to hear about a complex ER case you have managed independently, what you did, and what you might do differently with hindsight.
