The parents are divorced, the nanny will work on an alternative week bases between the mother’s home (in NW1) and the father’s home (in NW3).
- To look after two boys: 12 and 9 years old.
- Working days and hours: Average of 40 hours per week- the family needs a candidate who is ok to be flexible. In exchange, they are happy to offer a full-time position / salary.
Core hours: Monday to Friday, 1 pm–6 pm (25 hours per week).
Additional hours: Approximately 15 hours per week on average, including around two evening babysitting sessions and additional hours during school holidays.
Proxy parenting: Occasional overnight stays may be required when both parents are travelling for work simultaneously.
- Hourly rate: £18 to 20 net/hour (£49,500-£56,500 gross/year)
- Language requirements: fluent or native English speaker / French or Spanish a plus.
The family is looking for someone warm-hearted, open-minded and emotionally intelligent, who can build a positive relationship with both boys while providing structure, encouragement and consistency without being overly strict.
Excellent communication with both parents is essential.
Main duties:
- Collecting the boys from school and supporting their after-school routine.
- Helping with homework and encouraging positive study habits.
- Providing age-appropriate guidance, structure and emotional support.
- Preparing dinner for the boys.
- Grocery shopping and helping organise household essentials related to the children.
- Encouraging the boys to keep their bedrooms and belongings tidy.
- Supporting the boys’ individual learning styles and needs.
- Providing occasional babysitting and overnight proxy parenting.
- Travelling with the family, primarily to the United States.
- The older boy is described by his mother as a “warm-hearted, brainy boy”. He is sweet, funny and has been diagnosed with ADHD. He takes prescribed medication to support his focus. The younger boy is creative and charming and has dyslexia. He benefits from alternative learning approaches, such as listening to audiobooks.
The ideal candidate will be patient, understanding and adaptable, with an appreciation of each child’s individual personality and learning style.
- The mother has a cat, so the successful candidate should be comfortable around pets.
