We are a small, friendly and well-established accountancy practice based in Bishop's Sutton, near Alresford. Our team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to support our bookkeeping manager to join us. We are a close-knit team and pride ourselves on providing a friendly, personal service to our clients.

We're looking for someone who is confident in their bookkeeping and enjoys working with clients. Ideally, you will:
- Have good bookkeeping experience and be confident working independently.
- Have a good understanding of Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reports.
- Have experience preparing VAT returns.
- Be familiar with Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
- Be organised, reliable and have good attention to detail.
- Be comfortable speaking with clients and dealing with queries.
- Be able to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Be happy to ask questions when needed and work as part of a team.
- Take pride in producing accurate work and providing a good service to clients.
An AAT or bookkeeping qualification would be useful, but experience will be considered.
You will look after the day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of our clients, helping to keep their accounts accurate and up to date. Working hours will be between 22.5 - 30 hours per week. Your work will include:
- Processing invoices and day-to-day transactions.
- Completing bank reconciliations.
- Completing CIS returns.
- Keeping clients' bookkeeping up to date.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Dealing with client queries and helping them understand their accounts.
- Preparing and reviewing Profit & Loss, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet reports.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end work.
- Completing quarterly Making Tax Digital (MTD) submissions for self-employed & Landlords.
- Liaising with clients and the wider team to resolve any queries.
- Providing general bookkeeping support where required.
- Liaising with HMRC.
